Let's break down this question into two parts.

Why should the Artist release?

Let's sum this up:

  • It's always nice to earn money on the side of what the Artist loves to do. Studio equipment doesn't come cheap
  • It is extra exposure because the Artist target audience (fans) are at the places where they can buy / stream the music from the Artist
  • If the Artist fancy reputation, being on sale / stream portals increases Artist creditability because the Artist can deliver a product on the market where people would like to pay for
  • The Artist will take himself, career and dedication to music a lot more serious when money is involved
  • Record labels are able to market the release and turn a profit for both the Artists and themselves
  • Record labels have the manpower to promote on the Artists behalf, it opens up doors that would remain closed otherwise

And why specifically with Firespace Recordings?

Let's sum this up:

  • The Record Label release according to the true definition*
  • The Record Label collect all revenue streams (Most Record Labels do not even know what neighboring rights are)
  • The Record Label has a detailed revenue accounting system and provide the Artist on a quarterly base with the statements
  • The Record Label backs up the releases at personal Google Drive folders and grants it Artists 24/7 access to it
  • The Record Label does not take any copyright, the Record label only license the copyright
  • The Record Label has the highest revenue-share for Artists of up to 80% (60% if the Record Label pays for the mixdown and mastering)
  • The Record Label guarantees each release with a minimum of 1 remix
  • The Record Label is accessible in communication through e-mail and guarantees a reply within 4 working days (also applicable to demo submissions)
  • The Record Label releases on a per demo base. The Artist is free to release other tracks with other Record Labels
  • The Record Label automatically register the release with the music publishing entity Firespace Publishing.
  • The Record Label offers support if the demo gets rejected by the Record Label called Demo help

*Music Promotion channels call an upload usually a release too. This is incorrect and that should be called upload.
